The aim of this project was to identify all of the wider participation activities being undertaken in rural and small communities throughout the UK in order to create a database of information that can be used when considering action to tackle low participation rates. The research sets out the aim, objectives, methodology and outcomes of such initiatives and assesses their relevance to and ease of application in the North of Scotland. The final report was completed in December 2002. The research report can be downloaded here. The project was undertaken by The Open University in Scotland.
