This project ran for three years and concluded in December 2004 with the successful conference “Supporting the Bridge” at Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen. The project worked to promote and improve transition between Further and Higher Education institutions in the North East of Scotland. Work over the three years included running information days and HE familiarisation courses for FE students; FE/HE staff/subject liaison meetings; tracking students; development of a buddy scheme and the production of a generic Buddy Training Manual; and the production of an HE study skills CD ROM.
The project has been very highly valued by all involved and the work of the project will be continued and developed within the individual institutions. The institutions involved in the project were Aberdeen College, Banff and Buchan College, The Robert Gordon University and the University of Aberdeen.
