Communities
Engaging men in learning through local learning centres
Read about the second year of the Forum’s project to engage men in learning through local learning centres, working in some of the most remote communities across the North of Scotland.
Capacity building
This project aimed to help all Forum partners in the north of Scotland in providing advice to adults seeking to access post-compulsory education. The website created through this project is now available at http://www.staff-support.co.uk/
Course you can
The Forum’s new ‘Course You Can’ website is now available at www.courseyoucan.org.uk. It gives information on entry points and routes into and through further and higher education in the north of Scotland, and it is designed for both potential learners and careers and guidance advisers.
Diverse routes into higher education in Scotland
This national project provides information and guidance on routes into higher education for groups such as new migrants, EU nationals, refugees and asylum seekers - see www.diverseroutes.co.uk.
Schools
ASPIRENorth
ASPIRENorth works with P7–S4 pupils in schools that have historically low higher education progression rates. The team runs a comprehensive programme of activities in 24 target secondary schools across the north of Scotland – see www.scotland-aspirenorth.ac.uk for more information.

ASPIRENorth recently added exciting new interactive materials for pupils to its website
“What’s Next?”
This DVD resource contains case studies of a range of students from across the north of Scotland to provide potential learners with ideas and inspiration about possible routes into higher and further education.
Transitions
SWAPNorth
SWAP access to higher education courses in the North of Scotland are co-ordinated through the North Forum.
The North Forum element of the national bridging project - development of tools to improve bridging arrangements in computing and engineering
This project has produced materials to support students in the transition between college and higher education institutions in the subject areas of computing and engineering.
